For the second year in a row, Philly Roller Girls and the Abbaye are proud to present the Annual Vegan Wing Bowl. No chicken, no cheerleaders…no bones about it! The Vegan Wing Bowl is the ultimate alternative sports-sponsored eating contest in the City of Sisterly Shove. Competitive eaters will consume as many seitan-based wings as they can during the length of a roller derby jam—2 minutes. Winners from each round will be weighed and put on the leader board. The top three weights win fabulous prizes and bragging rights. Hail Seitan!

WHY:
In 2011, Philly Roller Girls and the Abbaye teamed up to prove that women's sports and vegetarians could create an exciting competitive eating event, without the cheerleaders or chicken. No bones about it--the first year was a huge success, with 10 hungry contestants wolfing down one of the Abbaye's most popular menu items in the name of women's flat track roller derby and meat substitutes everywhere. The 2nd Annual event is guaranteed to be bigger and better, with more delicious spills than a PRG bout!
Formed in 2005, Philly Roller Girls is an all-girl, skater-owned and operated member of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association of America—Philly Roller Girls is currently ranked 8th in the world among WFTDA leagues.
Opened in 2002, the Abbaye has been a top Northern Liberties spot for delicious local and imported beers, with casual dining and daily specials for all tastes and appetites.
