The Heavy Metal Hookers like their music loud and their messages louder.
On Saturday their message was made loud and clear.

Held at the Fleisher Art Memorial on Sunday, May 6, the Philadelphia Burger Brawl had 20 Philly chefs duking it out burger-by-burger to determine the Best Burger in Philly! Philly Roller Girls were on hand to help staff the event, from setup to teardown, and great fun was had by over 500 attendees! Capital Grille was chosen #1 by the celebrity judges, and Bobby Flay's Burger Palace was the People's Choice.
On Thursday, April 26th, members of Philly Roller Girls volunteered at the Annual United Cerebral Palsy "Life Without Limits 5k Run" at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The group made quite a statement as they kept the crowd of over 1,500 runners safe and sound as serving as the course patrol for the race.
Philadelphia, PA--Philly Roller Girls, members of the Women’s Flat Track Roller Derby Association (WFTDA), and among the top 12 teams in the world, are proud to announce their late-season move from the Class of 1923 Arena to Temple University’s Liacouras Center.

The balance of power has shifted, at least for now.
Opening Day roller derby showcased some speedy skaters, a lot of hard knocks, and the potential for a knockout season of Philly Roller Girls action. More importantly, no status appears to be safe as the 2011 Warrior Cup defending champion Philthy Britches suffered a tough defeat to league rivals, the Broad Street Butchers.

PHILADELPHIA – 3-2-1, contact.
As the final hours approach before the first jam of the Philly Roller Girls
season, the league's three teams are revving their engines and craving a
taste of impact.
The season opens on Saturday at the University of Pennsylvania's Class of
1923 Arena with a bone jarring double-header bout featuring a pair of
scorching hot rivalries.
Don't turn that dial! In case you haven't heard, a bunch of Philly Roller Girls have been on the radio promoting for our home season opener on Saturday, April 14th (if you don't have your ticket yet -- don't panic. You can purchase one (or two, or three, or...) by clicking here. Yay!).
After much anticipation, the ECDX 2012 committee has finally selected several matchups for the weekend's Challenge Bouts! Traditionally, the Challenge Bouts have offered skaters the opportunity to participate in the ECDX in an informal way. The scrimmage-type setting offers shortened non-sanctioned bouts featuring a mixed roster of registered skaters.
The Philly Roller Girls, friends, family, and fans came together on Sunday, April 1st, for our April Ghoul's Day Brews & Bruise fundraiser at Philly Pub 'n Grub.
Congrats to new Philthy Britch, ZZ Top Heavy (below), for winning best female zombie costume.
And congrats to Miller (not pictured), son of Persephone, won for best male zombie costume.

One of the Philly Roller Girls’ rising stars remembers her first meeting with roller skates.
It was the early 90’s and Eileen U. Scream was jamming out to some tunes, whisking through the weekend crowds at her local roller skating rink.
“I grew up in South Jersey so we would go to the skating rink on the weekends,” Scream recalled. “It was free babysitting for our parents and we would be safe with friends.”
Those fond memories were nearly the last thoughts of skating until just a few years ago, when Scream decided to give it a second try.
