ECDX 2010 TEAMS ANNOUNCED VIA LOTTERY SELECTION

Those who know Philly Roller Girls know that even an historic blizzard couldn't keep the team from selecting participants for its Fourth Annual East Coast Derby Extravaganza, to be held June 25-27th at the Sportsplex in Feasterville, PA.

After meeting with increased interest in team participation over the years, PRG co-General Manager, the Cycrone, commented on the tournament's new lottery approach: "We decided to go with the lottery system to make it more fair, and less dependent on people's ability to stay up late or access to computers in various time zones. As long as we had everyone's complete information, we wanted to give all interested teams an equal shot.”

With that in mind, team names were written on roller skates, and selected first from the East Division. The following seven teams were selected to participate from this division: Boston, Gotham, Carolina, Maine, Providence, D.C. and Montreal.

The remaining East teams were re-entered into the lottery, and mixed with the remainder of the applicants. An additional eleven teams were selected. Those teams were: Rose City, Suburbia, Hammer City, Dominion, Cincinnati, North Star, Naptown, Tampa, Nashville, H.A.R.D., and Minnesota. In addition, Philly Roller Girls selected B.A.D. and Windy City as two guaranteed sanctioned bouts.

Individual skater registration for ECDX 2010 begins on Monday, February 8th. Thanks again to all teams who expressed an interest in participating. Philly Roller Girls looks forward to another successful tournament this summer, with ECDX 2010, June 25-27th at the Sportsplex in Feasterville.
