The Philly Roller Girls (PRG) are a skater-owned and operated all-women roller derby league and a proud member of the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA). Since our inception in 2005, we have developed a league of athletic women on wheels that has brought roller derby back to Philadelphia, PA. Our league is currently comprised of over 50 skaters, dozens of officials and volunteers, as well as countless fans and supporters. PRG is comprised of four competitive interleague teams including:
The Liberty Belles and The Independence Dolls
The Liberty Belles are PRG’s all-star travel team and represent the league at the highest level of interleague competition. The team is ranked 2nd in the East region and has continuously ranked within the Top 25 worldwide since joining the WFTDA. The Belles travel across the country to compete, in addition to inviting top level teams to Philadelphia.
The Independence Dolls represent PRG against WFTDA "B" level travel teams, up-and-coming WFTDA "A" level travel teams and non-WFTDA all-star teams. Members of the Independence Dolls serve as alternates for The Liberty Belles. Together, these 30 skaters make up PRG’s International All-Star travel team contingent.
The Block Party
The Block Party represents PRG primarily against regional competitors. Considered a pick-up team, the Block Party is comprised of skaters not already skating for the Liberty Belles or Independence Dolls who are interested in additional competitive playing time.
The Cheese Skates
The Cheese Skates are comprised of PRG’s recent Fresh Meat graduates and bouts primarily against regional competitors.
The Philly Roller Girls’ season begins in April and ends in November. During this time we host doubleheaders in Philadelphia, PA at both the University of Pennsylvania’s Class of ‘23 Arena and Temple University’s Liacouras Center.
